I'm gonna go with 65 too. Even with a few abrasion, the strike looks solid. My guess is that the luster is extremely flashy in hand, and is the main element carrying the grade of the coin to MS-65. Beautiful Coin!!!

All things considered, I feel the Reverse is struck much crisper than the Obverse, I see plenty of original luster, I do not know if it is the strike on the Obverse or wear or both (hard to judge from pictures. I do not like the word Liberty, especially the letter B, I know companies do not grade the Obv 1 grade and the Rev another, (they should) but over all I would grade this coin an MS61+...Mike Just my opinion.

A few comments from Q. David Bowers on 1921 Peace dollars:

"All were struck from high relief dies. However, 99% or more are lightly struck on the hair strands at the center of the obverse and the body of the eagle on the reverse. This is par for the course, expect this."

Just bought it yesterday from these images and will post my own when it arrives.

Thanks for all the guesses!

I found my coin in Heritage Auction archives! It just sold about a month ago to the dealer I bought it from (I assume he bought it).

The Heritage pics are better than his! Here they are....

By the way, he made almost 10% profit in a month! C'est la vie!

Amazing coin! I'm not too into Peace dollars but I think later on I'll try to purchase an MS 1921 since I've heard the High Relief version is really amazing, much more eye appealing than their low relief counterparts. Do you agree?

Color me unsurprised, especially viewing the Heritage pics. That's on the upper end of 65. You got a good one.

MS62 & 63 coins are not bad price wise. They get real pricey, real quick after that. If you can find a nice 63 under $400, I'd grab it.
