I have a coin housed in an old, small ANACS holder. The serial number on the holder is 1252016.
How do I research this #?
PCGS has a cert. verification. I can't find anything like that on ANACS site. I am 99% sure this coin is genuine, I just want piece of mind. Thanks!

The company has since changed hands and I don't know if the current owners maintained records from the old company, but no harm in asking. Email them at CustomerService@ANACS.com

I have called them up once or twice for cert verification and they were able to look up and confirm the holder number, coin type, grade, and variety quickly over the phone. Worth a shot!

kind of ridiculous when you come to think of it that information on prior certification is not available on line no matter who currently owns the company or that records of prior certifications would not have been turned over from the old owners to the new or that the information would have been demanded as part of the sale of the company.

I thought it was ridiculous that NGC used to only show cert look up to paid members also but they did. I think now they let anyone do a cert lookup but for many years you had to be a collectors society paid member to be able to do a cert look up for NGC. ANACS probably have the records on what all has been graded through out the years just haven't added all those old slabs to the database yet. Even though the new owners has had the company a few years they have done allot of changing in that time and I would imagine there are more things to do that update the database with all the cert numbers that the company has graded through out all the years. I hope they will do it someday but I think it may take some time to do because they have done allot of changing since the company changed hands

As far as I know ANACS has never had an online database. I would imagine that part of the problem is the records have probably been kept in different incompatible formats. Remember unlike PCGS or NGC which have been one company all their lives, ANACS has had four different owners each of which probably kept the records their own way. Trying to mesh them all together into one database may require a lot of reentry to get them all in the same format.

A Phone Call will do it. They are trying to re-gain market share after their past couple of changes.
