Could someone please tell me why this coin on ebay has no value/denomination written on it?

Because it's not a coin, it's a silver round, bullion value only. Just happens to use the Peace dollar obverse.

Thank you, that is what I suspected, but the fact that it was advertised as a " Peace dollar" threw me.
Rest in Peace

There's a lot of these copies or quasi-copies floating around ebay. They properly should be listed as "copies" or "reproductions" in their titles and descriptions, but they get around (or ignore) ebay rules by labelling them as "commemoratives", "proofs", or "tributes". They're a waste of bandwidth, space, and time - especially the latter if they aren't properly titled and I click onto one only to learn it's a dud.

As others said. its a reproduction of a coin. Ive seen them in Morgans, Mercury dimes, and Roosevelt dimes. Most of the time they are made of silver.

Unless of course its one like this one !!! that is plated !!

These type of coins need to be looked at very closely,, If they do not give a silver weight they are more than likely plated and not worth anywhere close to bullion value !!

If you read the word Mils. this os refering to a plated piece of junk !!

Here's a perfect example of a reproduction 1889-CC which is plated 100 mils of silver over some base metal.

ebay germany has a lot of 1933 gold double eagles
in more or less clear terms labeled as guilded

However some series is labeled reproduction limited to a 1000 pieces giving the impression it is a complete gold repro

Since I am not intrested in having 1933 in any repro form I just did not check since all those repros are indeed just a wast of time
Unless someone has all the years of Double Eagles and NEEDS to fill the 1933 spot

I just got about 10 coupon advertisements from a company on reproductions. I guess that's what happens when you order something from them.

These aren't even bullion? It is just a veneer of silver? Oh my!
I wonder if any of the poor people who buy these realise that?
That is just terrible!

Susan is right - the seller coins4collection has only recently begun listing them with "reproduction" in the title and text. Unless a potential buyer knows what "100 mil pure silver proof" is and means, and has more than superficial knowledge of Morgans (or other coins which have been copied), s/he is likely to think these are originals or, at the least, solid silver coins. Evidently enough bought them to keep the seller in business.

The unfortunate situation is that many or most of the buyers won't realize that these are fakes (and cheap fakes to boot) until they try to sell them down the road or show them off to knowledgeable collectors. Even worse is if such fakes are purchased as investments for their families, get into legacy status, become part of an estate, and the heirs think they've inherited a small fortune only to learn it's worthless. This fries my corker, but enough venting for now.
