Though grading is subjective, there must be general if not specific guidelines and average person can learn, in order to have a firm grasp when reviewing raw coins we might be purchasing.....Though the TPG's have the final say there is no reason we can't be on the same page as the grading companies.......
here's the next coin....

Looks mint state, with some grade-limiting scuffs around the eye. The reverse toning is nice but not spectacular enough to boost the grade. I'm guessing MS-63.

I will say MS-63 also with a shot at 64, kind also its a 7/8TF and a VAM-38. it took a pretty good hit there in the denticles at 9:00 on the Obverse

My guess is MS64 on this one. The rim ding at 9:00 on the obverse and the spot above the eye could hold it to 63 but I like it as a 64.

next time you may want to be sure to smudge up the PCGS numbers or erase them or something because all someone has to do is check the cert and see the grade. I think they were a little generous on this one
Rest in Peace

I'll try to work on that Bryan after all the point is to use our own skills to sharpen them to the industry standards,, but even the honest must be kept in check....its not about looking good online,, I am hoping those who contribute will also state why they feel the grade they would assign....I'll mix it up a bit with the next post....
The grade for this post is....

DRUM< ROLL.....MS 35.........

Just kidding... Its MS64......BY PCGS...
