So I heard about a coin show from a guy that comes into my work. It was a few minutes from my house I figured why not go check it out!
The Bills game was blacked out so I had nothing better to do anyways.
I couldn't believe how much fun I had, I was there for like 4 hours lol.
I didn't buy a ton because I'm not to into doing that, but wow this could get addicting. Here are the deals I made:
CANT BELIEVE I GOT SOME OF THESE COINS SO FAR UNDER MELT!
1913
Barber dime Good condition $1.75
1896
Barber quarter AG $3.00
1927
Standing Liberty quarter G+ $4.75
1918 S
Lincoln Wheat cent $0.25
1917 S
Lincoln Wheat cent $0.50
1955 S
Lincoln Wheat cent BU full red $1.25
1941
Mercury dime XF (Beautiful coin) $1.45
1943 S
Mercury dime F $1.50
1940 D
Mercury dime VG $1.25
1929 S
Mercury dime G $1.50
I also purchased 200 of the quarter sized cardboard flips (not 2X2's something else) $6
then 5 binder pages that will hold 30 of the coin holders
and 5 that will hold 20 of the coin holders $5
Finally a very very gently used ( can't even tell it's used) Roosevelt dansco album for $5!
Only problem is that it only goes up to 2005 (I can buy the extra page if I want though)
I also took my baby brother with me, who is 10 and bought him
a
V nickel Standing Liberty quarter Barber quartermercury and
Barber dimeAll silver under melt and the
V nickel for 1.25 I think
I didn't pay all that because the guys would drop a quarter or so off the prices for the most part
Lastly I sent off a coin to be graded. I talked to many guys about doing it and then brought in the coin to show off. It is a 1922
Lincoln Wheat cent I found in a lot I bought from craigslist. I took it in and based off the stuff the guy who is getting it graded for me said it looks like a AG3 possibly a stretch on a G4
I think that was what he said lol if that makes sense
He looked at the coin for a while and said based on the reverse being lightly struck and the obverse looking as it does he thinks I might have the real deal
He also said not to get my hopes up though because it might have been in a mixed bag for a reason.
He said if it comes back AG3 I'm looking at a 300-350 dollar coin
if it turns out to be a 1922 D though it would only be worth about 15 bucks
I took a gamble, gonna cost about 35-40 bucks for the grading
He has the coin and I should get back to you all on what I have in around a month!
Hopefully I'm 300 dollars richer and not out my 30 bucks!
I had a blast and so did my brother, can't wait for my next show!
