I don't like the way the reverse looks. Can you view it in person? 1894 only used one reverse die I believe so the diagnostics are easy to learn and remember for a genuine coin.

it could very well be in a problem slab, so they are cutting that off on purpose. Maybe, maybe not.

The reverse is pretty dark. Maybe they removed a mint mark then covered up that evidence with some technique to darken the coin to hide the removal. If you could get a much closer flat image from this guy maybe some of these VAM enthusiasts could identify the coin with some diagnostic die markers. Laying flat like that is a red flag to me on every key date coin. If I were selling an important coin, I would be using the very best images I could possibly present.
I see it is from Las Vegas, I would put my money on it being a bogus deal, say odds 5 to 1.

I'd echo Dave's advice - stay away from Craigslist for coins. I was looking for a Trade dollar and saw one out there and asked the seller a simple question. At first he wouldn't answer then he started sending harassing emails. He finally stopped, but as a result of him, I steer clear of it.

The wreath bow and right and left wreaths look way to close to the top of the words "One Dollar" to me.
