What grading company of the big three is the easiest and cheapest to get a bunch of coins graded. I have a few key and semi key dates as well as high grade barbers that I would like to send in to be graded but I have not done so before so what would be the best way to go
thanks, Bryan

ANACS is by far the cheapest and is the only one that does NOT require a membership to submit. Very easy...

While I will agree that ANACS is the easiest, also reasonable, I have sent in about 6 coins to be graded, I find their grading standards are VERY strong, I did not think the grades given were, in all fairness, accurate,under-graded IMO.

Then you would definitely not like PCGS and NGC grades....

FoxwoodsMan, I believe morgans dad may be refering to the new revised ANACS....many people are now complaining that they are now stricter than PCGS and NGC. My opinion is that it all works out in the end.Once people learn that ANACS is the most conservative..the prices will adjust accordingly. But hey, the question was which is the easiest and cheapest...so we have a consensus on that.

Maineman750, You are correct, I was talking about the "new" Anacs. As far as easy and cheapest, you are spot on correct........IMO, This company making it easier for the average person to submit, will go a long way for building a larger clientele.
After all who wants to pay for things you just don't need, membership, etc.

I agree with Morgans Dad regarding ANACS and their grading policy. I feel that they are more strict than NGC and PCGS. Therefore one should think twice when submitting coins to be graded. I would most likely submit to NGC or PCGS and pay extra (including membership fees and get possible higher grades.

I think a point is being skipped here...
Are you sending coins to be graded for resale or are you just doing it for your own good and to protect the coins?
If protecting the coins is your only agenda, then send them to ANACS.
If you are looking to resell them ANACS would be the WORST choice. NGC and PCGS are the only market accepted grading companies.

ANACS is good if you want to (1) Certify your coins are genuine and (2) Establish a minimum - but not necessarily accurate - grade for the coin or (3) Get a details grade on a problem coin.
You should not, however, trust their grade as the final word on a coin. As some have mentioned, ANACS is now very conservative so you might actually get a higher and I dare say more accurate grade through PCGS and NGC.

Quote: I would most likely submit to NGC or PCGS and pay extra (including membership fees and get possible higher grades That statement scares me..."paying" extra for better grades ? I guess it proves that grading needs some better standards if nothing else. I agree with Chuck that PCGS and NGC currently bring the best prices but would like to see "market accepted" defined a little more clearly for those of us who don't know.
