Started A Dansco Dollar Date Set - Coin Community Forum

GR58 Bedrock of the Community United States 11951 Posts	Posted 02/08/2011 4:40 pm Recently I decided to take some money out of one investment and put in to silver. I don't really have that many Morgan dollars so I thought I would focus on getting some of them first. I found this album that I think I will really like when finished. It is a Dansco 7172. It has one hole for each year a dollar coin was minted from 1878 through 1999 (not counting commemorative dollars). Plus one spot for each different mint mark. My main goal will be to get as many as I can from the silver boxes. I have not really collected Morgan dollars, but have a few that I some how picked up over the years. I am sure there will be a couple years that will be hard. I found 12 different years of Morgans on first pass through my coin safe. So just 20 more and will be done with the Morgans. The Peace dollars should not be to hard, 1921 should be the only hard year. Also I like having another page where I can put Ike dollars, and a few of the SBA's that somehow I have but don't remember buying. I think this is a set I can get done before the end of the year. But I'm at a point where they are a little pricier when you need keys & semi. I will have to get one oft those myself. Thanks for sharing. I got mine at a local coin shop, $18.00. I am always looking for one I don't have. Not sure why you did not see it on the Dansco site, I think the Link jbuck posted is the same one. This would be a nice way for me to collect more Morgan's without diving into the entire Date/Mint or VAM collecting. I have plenty of extra Eisenhower and SBA dollars to get me started, as well as two Morgan dollars from our good friend Moe! They did have a Morgan dollar date set book, which would be just the first 3 pages of this one. They did say they were going to a coin show in Lakeland Fl, the weekend after this one. If I wanted one they would try to pick one up for me, I would have to let them know by next Thusday.
