Just to clarify, by the "attic" comment, I don't literally mean only attics.
Basically, as I see it, the velocity of Canadian 1 cent coins is LOW! They typically go from cash register to wallet to change jar. Then they sit. Clearly, people's behavior is that they save up several rolls worth before rolling. Or, they just give the change jar to the kids for cancer, or, even worse, sit on the change jar forever. They do NOT in general return the pennies to the bank immediately.
So by "attics" I mean desk jars, office drawers, laundry rooms, car consoles, old change purses, piggy banks, etc.
For instance, my in-laws had a change jar with tons of 2006 coins in it, and that was a couple years ago. No luck on the 2006P non-magnetic, though!

Things are looking good for you darryldarryl. However it will go over my guess of $2000.

That bidding behavior for this coin is quite odd... r***9 seems determined at any cost, he putin like 4 extra bids right up to $1950. I wonder if the other bidders are getting frustrated and intentionally driving the bids up against him.... I would rather spend $2000+ on a real nice George V cent in MS-65 full red.
The clear winner here is the seller!

I think that this guy (woman...? I doubt it) has decided to corner the market on these coins. He might be able to do it if he has $25K or $50K to throw at it, which is not that much compared to the $18 million it would cost to corner the 48 dollar (18,000 x $1000). Right now the 2006 no mark magnetic looks not so scarce. But after he spends another couple of thousnad the world might look different.....
