He only has one negative feedback and it looks like it's from a competitor.

That is not a genuine racketeer nickel, it is a modern gold-plated G/VG coin worth $5 at most. It would have been impossible for a nickel to have circulated that much in 1883 before it was plated. It is almost certain that the nickel was plated by the "American Historic Society"(which is not a historic society at all, just a retailer of schlock and dreck) specifically for this little ripoff promotion.

I love his photo/mug shot in his profile. I need to put a bid on either the $51,000 or the $50,000 paintings he has for sale. RUN don't walk away!

No wait, this coin is approved by the "American Historic Society" which is neither a Society nor Historic. But it may be American, so heck 1 out of 3 ain't bad.

Didn't genuine "racketeer nickels" have milled edges?

This guy plays ebay like it's the lottery.

The painting of Holland isn't that bad, but the white buffalo looks like mid grade Jr. High work.

I don't think I will be paying the $1M to have this guy paint my house.

Well, they only say its "genuine." It is a genuine nickel ... just altered. So technically they cannot be accused of a lying - just "clintoning."

Biokemist put it perfectly... a period racketeer nickel (which I'd love to pick up at some point) would have originally been a mint state coin coated in gold. At this point, the gold would likely be partially worn off, creating wear on the coin itself at the same time. Coated wear is an easy give-away.

edit: and another online dealer has this coin not gold plated in BU $25 -39

I have one of these I bought as a novelty at an auction. I think I paid a buck or two for it.
