I'm pretty excited about my latest buy, so I wanted to post some scans. After two decades of collecting Lincolns, I finally purchaced a vdb to fill the hole in my 20th century type set. Its nothing special... but I thought the wheat was so clear for $10, I had to get it. Check it out! So now the first denomination is complete in my type set album:

I'd say vf. vdbs tend to be high grade, since many saved the "new" coins.

That's a nice looking, original 09-VDB. Very nice eye-appeal! Looks nice in your set

I see you have one of the major designs, but not the other. Where's your 1909-1917 "no vdb"?

Fuzzy, Mr Barber didn't like Mr.Brenner having his initials on the coin so the VDB was removed until 1918. This is the reason the 09' VDB are key dates.

Thanks BLUESZONE, I can see the VDB on the 1919 obverse. My 1918's quality is a little off.

Nice! Always a good feeling to check mark something off the list! Which album is that? I always wondered why Dansco didn't separate the copper and zinc memorials (and a few other types also).

I thought it odd that they would put the 1909 VDB in there and not the 1910-1918 also. If they included the VDB in the set, you think they would have put those. And what about the 1974 aluminum penny?
