Greetings from the Pine Belt.

So I have been going through about a box of pennies a week (only my second week) and was suprised to find these five beauties in one roll. The roll was a customer roll with the ends taped. I actually still have 3 more rolls with taped ends so who knows what else I will get.

My questions are....Is this normal? Are these coins that you would normally save out of a roll? The 1963 is better than the one currently in my ablum...would you switch it out? I am keeping all of them. I would rather have found 5 WAMS but I liked this roll non-the-less.

I'd save the 1963-D and switch it with the one in your album. Not that it's rare or anything. Do you keep the copper ones? Your choice. The others I'd probably spend.

Yeah...I keep the copper. I know they are not rare or valuable. I don't collect to make money. If I did it would be time for a new job...lol

Would you call these BU or VG? or? I keep alot of pennies in rolls if they are in good condition even if they are "common"...in 100 years they won't be common...

I would call the 1963-D BU from what I see on the obverse. Do you have a pic of the reverse? The others look damaged (77) or have lots of nicks to call them BU, although they look like they might be mint state.

Gotcha...I am still new to the grading aspects of it all. I don't have a pic of the Reverse. But it is of same quality. I am going through rolls as we speak...lol

The 1990 I would keep, just because they are not easy to find where I live

The 70s, 80s & 90s you found are common in rolls. The 1963D is not so common. Nice find.

If you are talking holding them for a long time (many years) I would keep the
1982 D. In 82 and 83 they did not make mint set. Mint sets are where many
collectors harvest coins to fill modern coin sets. So I keep 82 and 83 coins
when I find them in AU or better grades.

Also in 82 they had both copper and zinc cents. So if that one is a copper,
many people including me, put them away for the copper.

That's a nice selection from a roll. I am filling a LMC folder from roll hunting and am always replacing as I find better coins.
