A simple design is need for such a small surface, something such as this would be fine for me.

Put me down in favor of a return to Liberty - not only on the dime but on everything else as well. That poor ol' Roosevelt design, good as it is, has been around unchanged for too long - the most exciting thing to happen to Roosevelt dimes has been the 1996-W.

I'm with the folks that want to bring the pretty lady liberty back. Let the dead presidents remain on the paper money.
And one other thing. All new designs. Find the best 5 engravers in the country and challenge them to create something better than the other guys. I bet we would see some fantastic coins then.
Oh yeah, one last request, and this goes for all coinage. I want a little more relief. The relief on these new coins are so shallow that they almost look like etchings. Compare any coin from the 60's and compare the relief to a new coin. That deep relief is where a lot of the beauty jumps out of the coin for me.

I hope they start a new commemorative series. Like eight different dimes every year celebrating the top inventors in US history. Then the mint can sell us rolls of the dimes with fancy wrappers for three times face value, all our albums would need customizing, and the mints sets would have like five lenses. Maybe a different finish could be on the mint sets! That would be really cool. 40 different dimes a year for like 10 years. Wow! Wouldn't that be great.

I have no problem with presidents on the coins. I dont buy into that its like when they had kings on them bunk. Honor those that have made this country the great place it is. I went with changing the dime mainly because I think there should be one coin with a Liberty design at all times. And I dont think the statue on the dollar coins counts.

I like the idea of a Lady Liberty! I also like the Mercury dime idea too!

I definitely do not equate our presidents to the monarchs of old. My real issue is political. Not my politics specifically, but the politics of replacing one president with another. There are certainly more worthy presidents than the five currently depicted on our circulating coins (well, four if you consider that the half dollar is no longer minted for circulation). As a youth, I was upset when Eisenhower was removed from the Dollar. Of course I look back now and I am happy since that is a complete series with a definite end. My Eisenhower dollar Dansco Album is complete. I also have end points for my Washington quarter (1998), Jefferson nickel (2003), and Lincoln Cent (2008) albums. It is my Roosevelt dime and Kennedy half dollar sets that seemingly have no end! It is for this reason alone that I want the dime (and half dollar) to change. It does not matter if they only modified the Roosevelt portrait (like Jefferson) or changed the reverse (like Washington and Lincoln) because it would give me a break point for that series.

Though I have no information bearing this specifically.....since they "Congress" have completely overhauled EVERYTHING to do with our paper notes and most of our coinage, I would find it hard to believe that they are NOT planning on a "dime change". I only voted "no" because I have a feeling that they would do more harm than good with any "change" to the dime. We ARE talking about the same Congress that has done everything else here right ? .........yeah....like I said. I do like the Shield Cent.......and a few of the other changes to some of our coins, to be honest, but I just think they WOULD do some kind of silly "Commemorative" editions of the dime....or "something" to anger collectors. I just KNOW they would ! So.....until I see a specific plan and some detailed drawings of the choices......my vote is a "no". I would change that vote in a heartbeat, if the plans of the change were surprisingly good ones though ! ..... But I can't blindly vote "yes" until then ! ...

***Political comment removed. Let's stick to the coins!***
I don't want to see another corrupt president either.
I would like to see Lady Liberty.

Lady Liberty with Justice Scales that would do it for me, tight yes, maybe on a larger coin. I'd also like to see a sword, justice scale, and Shield. or a sword on one scale and shield on the other with fig as the pointer

I agree. Change the dime. I'd like to see a screen shot of a famous scene in American history. How about something that inspired our national anthem?
