Looks like a Grease Filled Die. Is that considered an error or a variety?

Well, if its an IKE as the subject says, than it's a major error, since that's the reverse of a Kennedy half!

Actually just looks like a Grease Filled Die to me.

Yea I noticed the title too late and I can't edit it. Also you might want to check this out before you vote.

I think your coin could be a combination of both. It looks like it may have been Struck Through Grease, then damaged.

I feel it is one, but not both. The same thing caused the area in question. I won't say which. It;s always nice to let others decide before commenting. Some read the posts and then vote. The purpose of a poll is to get people to think FIRST, then vote. When they think, they learn. Otherwiase they read and go with the comments posted. So I refrain from the answer in my comments.

I voted PMD but I now am reconsidering it being an error because of the stars...the one seems to have no cuts or scratches on it but is half way gone...

I think is is (based on the odds) both a debris filled die
along with PMD. But can only verify one and impossible to be sure if PMD.

Just read this from Lincolncentresource.com and it says that a struck through error can range from staples to grease or to any object found at the mint. Lincolncentresource.com are authorities in this field.
