Cashier/boss showed me a silver quarter (63?) he got out of the changer. OK, happy congratulations, but that's not good enough.
"Yeah, just like finding $11".
Huh? Who's paying that?
"That's what I got the last time I sold a bunch."
What's the guy's name? I'll cut you in for a %.
"I don't remember."
Son, next time you wanna sail your bullship, find a different lake.
(Who do people think they're fooling?)

You need to chill buddy
I see your raged comments all time
Just the other day you were getting all worked up because we were calling my truman piece a coin, when its a medal.
There's going to uneducated people out there, and a lot of idiots who are greedy. THATS JUST THE WAY LIFE IS.
Im sure there was a point in your life when you said something wrong, or didn't understand something, whether it be in sports, school, work, or other hobbies. Would you like to be jumped on or corrected for pointless details? Quite honestly, its comedic how you're so angry and skeptical in your posts. Half the time people act stupid just to get the satisfaction of pissing people off....and you're feeding right into them.
You just need to accept that there are idiots and uneducated people and greedy people out there in the world, and getting yourself all mad about it is just a waste of time - especially making a post like this one.
Just learn to ignore it. And instead of posting a "rant -like" post (for the lack of better words) post a lighter tone one so we can help laugh at the matter, not start ranting too.

If we don't use the correct terminology, who will? This is my business. If there's someone out there paying $11 for common silver quarters, I want to know about it. Oddly enuf, when the tailgate drops, the BS stops. PS-Get back to me about the public after running a full-time coin shop for 25+ years.

See the problem is - it makes no difference whether we called it a coin or a medal.
Replacing the word "coin" with the word "medal" provided absolutely nothing to the conversation. No added benefit, no further understanding, no nothing. It was just wasted, unnecessary information - an act of ignorance and narcissism

Do you know why ASE and AGE have face values? Because that makes them coins instead of medals, with tax and retirement account ramifications all over the country. I don't mind a good discussion with anyone, but just griping accomplishes nothing. If there's no difference, why make an issue of it?

I would not let the coin/medal info upset you Rbethell11, as I disagree with your thoughts on it. There is clearly a diff between coins and medals, and being here in the forum and talking to people that may have done this for decades longer than you should be viewed as a learning opp IMO....
I don't know how long you have been into the coins Rbethell11 but I have been a house league ice hockey goalie since I was 20, and now at 37 and 269 wins 202 losses 27 ties and 10 post season and 13 regular season titles(23 total Jordan's number, lol), if you came up to me and tried to tell me how I should do this or that in net after you had been playing for a year, well it would be like me trying to tell Michael Jordan how to play basketball in his prime, lol....
Just because one appears to be using "raged comments" remember you can't see their face through the keyboards. so I never assume a sentence was stated in anger, happiness, etc., as when you do you get yourself all worked up for nothing....
I run a real simple online rule for myself being....That I will not TYPE anything in reference to anyone, if I would not be willing to say the same thing to the person in questions face if they were sitting across from me at the dinner table in person....

Quote: I certainly would not get upset about anything on the Internet ^this Takes some people many years to learn this. I Play a lot of online competitive games where "raging" is common. Took me years to just learn to let it go and move on. And yea, IMO, there is a significant difference between a Coin and a Medal.

Rbethell nailed it. Relax, life is full of different people. Learn to deal with them, relax, don't let it get to you. Life will be more enjoyable then.

I think it was bit harsh, the bullship statement. It's not like the quarter was worth only a quarter. At 28 times face, it goes for....around....$6.80. So the value was exaggerated. So what? The sentiment still stands. It WAS worth more than face value. Much more. Take that one quarter in to the locals around here and walk out with enough money to buy Lunch. Slamming him like that makes it sound like he is moron and totally wrong. When in fact it was an exaggeration. He might in fact have been just miss-informed. Now that I think about it, there is a public perception that a Morgan/Peace dollar is an ounce of silver. And a Quarter IS worth 25 percent of the Morgan...so at $40/ounce Silver..the Pubic might well believe that a quarter was worth around $10. Should not we be educating the public and not castigating them; or holding them up for public ridicule?
Might we not be showing our ignorance of what might really be going on?
