Just to have fun with the probabilities, let's say 100 examples of an 1881 single serif N exist, out of a mintage of 2 million. In order to have a 50/50 probability of finding one, you would have to sample at 13,863 coins. I don't think even Bill has seen that many 1881 cents. It is obviously very, very scarce, but there are more out there.

My coin was sent to CCCS once and twice to ICCS to be certified. All three times came back as an obverse one. Finally sent to PCGS. http://www.PCGS.com/cert/32729650Money well spent?

It's a great coin with or without certification! If I had it I'd be afraid to send it anywhere for fear it would get lost in the mail.

As the hoarder of the coins of '82, I must give this coin my two thumbs up seal of approval! Great find!

Randy .. as you know it's an Obverse 1a and pretty scarce with the hub chatter. I don't know if I went back and looked at my 82's when you first posted it ... I only look for the 2/1's for the last 3 years, but I must have 3-400 of them (non-Obv 2's). I'll let you know what I find

The 1882H Triple Die and 1881H SSN are the only major vicky varieties that I believe would score an R7 on the Sheldon Scale (4-12 known). Maybe 1859 TP9-2...still can't find one, and I'm the guy with 16 1859 DP9-5s and 12 TP9-1s and 10 9/6s. Maybe they've been picked clean

"Maybe they've been picked clean"
