I love the Airtites but they are small and round and you can't write on them for labeling purposes. I have a few raw keys that I would like to put in a larger holder, where I can also place a label. Has anyone used these and what is your experience with them? Good or bad. Recommend, or something else. Thanks! swcoin.ecrater.com

Funny you should mention that..... I've started using them about as year ago. I love them! Great way to holder a coin, or about 75 in my case! I got the coin labeling software and a pack of tear apart labels and peel 'n stick labels. I've only used the tear apart. I got mine from Jakes Marketplace and recently had to order some for some ore recent acquisitions and Coin World has discontinued the white inserts, which I use. Had to get the green, but they look pretty good too. They are slowly running gout of their white stock though. I don't think you can go wrong with them. Easy to use, easy to store (I use the Coin World slab boxes) and they present the coin well. Hope this helps, Steve

If your planning on putting each coin in a separate holder, maybe for now a good idea. BUT as your collection grows, imagine thousands of those holders. Or even tens of thousands of them. And the price of thousands of those. I still think your best bet is to simply use standard, 2x2 flips. The cardboard ones are cheap and have plenty of room to write info. For looks and additional protection you could simply tape all edges.

Thanks for the post Indy I have the same questions.
I was thinking more about the 2x2 plastic with the black surrounding the coin. It's called the coin Quadrum. They workout to be about 50c each. Not a lot of room to write on them.
Still thinking.
Carl must have an interest in the 2x2 cardboard flips, and staples, and tape. I know he has tried to sell other people on that idea before. He wants our thousands of coins in his holders.

I have been looking at these also. I have seen some others use them and like them. In fact I have been putting a list together for Coin World order. But I will check out Jakes also. IMO these slab type holders are a good idea for more valuable coins that you might not want to send into a TPG. For me I am thinking for mid grade Bust half dollars. They offer room where I could print a label with all the information I would like to display. Maybe even Morgans with VAM information. I am thinking of a label something like this 1882 O Morgan dollarGBT = MS 63 Mintage xx,xxx, xxx VAM 17A Having the label space those holders offer, would be very nice (FYI GBT = Graded by Tom)

Wish I did. Actually I have 9 of those Whitman Red Boxes that hold 2 rows of 2x2 cardboard flips. And they are really full. Using tape instead of staples makes it easier to pull out and put in. Lots of room to write on both sides if needed. Also, taped ones look better in a 20 slotted plastic page and using some tapes that allow writting also gives a place for more info. Also, I've made a lot of those plstic 2x2 flips and use one side for an info sheet. Problem with those is a coin can move around in those although most are fairly tight. With thousands and thousands of coins, room becomes a problem.

I love the Coin World re-usable slabs for coins I want a slabbed look for - like merging some raws with some certified slabs in slab "album" pages. Otherwise, I like the re-usable plastic snapping ones like Harris makes ( that are color coded by coin type ). They aren't cheap, but I still much prefer them to anything else available! Detest the cardboard 2X2's really. They are cheap and look it, IMO. Nice coins deserve nice professional-looking holders IMO!

Thumbing through the Whiman Publishing Catalog, I see they have pages of items for individual coin strorage. About 9 different sizes for individual coins. Also, Strips for multiple coins in what looks like 5/strip. The prices listed for the individual ones are $0.89 each but that would be the Whiman price. Most dealers would sell the same thing for much less. Problem is no place to write on those either.
