What is going to be rare (although I agree with Foxwoods Man, totally artificially) is a bullion coin in MS70 with a "25th Anniversary Set" label, even rarer if it is also Early Release or First Strike labeled as well. It will be the key to the set for those who want "perfect 70" sets or want such sets with the ER or FS tags as well. It is exactly the same coin as any other (S) or (W) or just plain 2011 bullion coin in MS70 except for the fact that there are people who will pay through the nose for it. According to the data in the Heritage permanent auction archive, 38,796 of 47,478 2011 bullion SAE graded by PCGS have been MS70s, so that coin is, well, common. It is clear that most of those coins were probably submitted in monster boxes (I think that because many of the coins traded at Heritage were -(S) or -(W) coins) and only perfect coins were slabbed. Because ot that, there is no way to tell what percentage of bullion coins are actually 70s but it is probably low enough compared to the proof, uncirculated, and even reverse proof coins to make it the key in set designated coins. If you just want an example of each coin in MS/PR70 and don't care if is has the set label or ER or FS either, you can pick one up pretty cheap. Even MS70 FS 2011-(S) are going at Heritage auctions for only $75 final price.

I would like to ask those with submission experiences a question or so, My friend ordered 5 sets and they are on the way, would it be a bad idea to send them to ANACS because he does not have a membership fee in the equation and would you think a 69 or all 70's ANACS set would fetch around the same as another TPG'R like PCGS and NGC, maybe less but not a substantial amount of difference. How much would you think one of the ANACS all 69's sets would bring, and what do you think an all 70's ANACS set would bring, I am going to check out their policy after posting this topic, Thanks again all......I mean if he wanted to have all the 5 sets graded, IMO they would more likely come back 69's and 70's and if a set is in consecutive numerical order, I believe the set would bring more, at worst, if all 69's or 70's he could mix up the coins to hopefully make a set or more and bring in some larger profits than selling the box of 5 sets . If he sells a set or two of 69's or 70's the income could pay for the original 1500.00 dollar investment for the box of 5 sets and have the remainder slabbed coins to sell, any way he chooses, or give me a set for the price he paid from the you S Mint..........PS, If he requests, will the TPG'R return ALL the COA'S and the original Mint boxes and paperwork, if he pays the shipping extra fees? Thanks. I would also ask does anyone know just what the ANACS policy is for the 25th anniversary label, if the 5 sets were sent to them un-opened, IF they even have one, because in all this thread I do not believe I have seen a word about ANACS. I had taken the time to inform him about the sets and as it lays out, I am possibly not going to receive a set and he has 5 and wants to have them graded, I inform others of this and other special Numismatic specials and sometimes The messenger gets shot....LOL.

Unfortunately, more than likely, the pricing of sets of the same grade, PCGS will be the highest, followed by NGC, then ANACS.

Use ANACS. The more people that feed into this PCGS is superior BS, the more it stays that way.
Both of our RPs have the exact same fault. On the obverse there is a line of spots that run up the field behind Liberty. It looks for all the world like small areas where the die created polished spots. Its not easy getting a pic of it as its only seen at certain angles. I will post if I manage to get some.

MorgansDad, That really stinks! Your friend hopefully will be a true friend and let you buy a set at cost. Of course with the added cost. Its the right thing to do, not to mention he wouldn't have any sets with out your help. Plus He wouldn't have any problems making back all his money, still with profit. Hope it works out for ya. Good luck. I'm off to free my ladies for a quick photo shoot, I hope none of them get frisky and make a run for it. lol Something tells me that Reverse Proof aint normal. Seems a little backwards.....Have to keep an eye on her. This was a poor attempt at a funny:-{J

Another local dealer is offering $500 each for OGP Sets. Ironically, the day my biggest coin purchase of the year came to the door (today), I bought a 1936 Oregon Trail Memorial Half-Dollar. A blast white high Mint State raw coin. Figures after I dropped all that coin for the ASE's, a super-nice Oregon Trail half magically appears in my dealer's case...

HSN was just selling their FDOI ANACS 70 sets for $3000. Then 'ole Mike went on to say the mint sold out of the sets in one hour. A million orders were cancelled the first day he claims, his five sets were cancelled. Unreal. Does he not know those of us with some knowledge of this can smell his BS? I thought the sellout was somewhere around five to six hours?

Anyone notice how the tray that the coins are on, can be sat up. Displaying the coins upright. When I lifted the tray out and saw the side closest to you, was cut on an angle. I realized they made it so it turned into a nice display as well. Nice little bonus!

Thanks for the tip amassey08873 I did not notice that, and with so many not even opening their boxes they never even saw the coins let alone the tip you just mentioned...

Cherry picking the W's and PF's would increase the 70's data. The fact that the W's and PF's are not shipped on top of each other in a 20 coin tube could be a mechanical reason also. I read in another blog that the S MM'd burnished coin seems to have major issues with rim dings and other marks making that one a big question mark for getting a 70, or as the poster said "maybe not even a 69" out of his box of 5 sets. One 70 set out of a box of 5 sets is definitely not a given....

Has anyone noticed on their "uncirculated" S mint a tiny shiny spot right smack in the middle of the field to the right of lady liberty? Every one of my five sets has that spot on the S mint coin.

Most likely a die pin hole and the coins were all from the same die...I had the same thing with a bunch of 2011 W's I recently ordered...

Curiosity question..... on coins of this quality, how many coins are typically struck per die?
