In my opinion the best designed of the RCM $300 2 oz 14Kt gold coins. My wife is forcing me to liquidate (hence our ebay id watermark), so I thought i'd show them off before they're no longer mine. Breathtaking, both coins. I especially like the 2002 one, more elegant than the 2004. Edited by poboxw 09/12/2011 6:07 pm

Well, good timing to sell for gold NCLT. I unloaded a few myself and did quite well. When gold deflates in a few decades or so you'll be able to buy them back for face value (or less)

I always hear gold is going to burst, but it just seems to get stronger every time someone predicts it will burst. Yes, gold is not stable, it goes up and down a lot. But I have been hearing the same tune my whole life about how gold will burst. There's no doubt in my mind that it is a little high right now, but gold will still be gold in a few decades unless the world completely changes, and if the world completely changes in that way, we would have more worrisome things than the price of gold.

The "Precious Metals & Bullion" sub forum is riddled with constant debate on the future of gold. Though predominantly American biased, seems like the consensus is that gold will hold and go high as fiat money continue to depreciate. I'm also in the camp that foresees health corrections but generally increase value of gold (or really the devaluation of paper money against gold). Too bad I'm in need of some cash regardless of how well I predict gold will do.

Of course... predicting the future is a very difficult thing to do. And I just love when commentators jump in with strong arguments one way or another.
For me, it would just be too funny to buy back some of my old gold coins... at face value.

Very good chart Dialog. So we should keep an eye on the US debt - or the price of gold. Then we'll know which one will move, correct?
So which one will move first?
My wife would argue that the country is in debt just to buy the gold.

no way to attribute causality through an observational graph like this with 100% certainty, but there really is no way that the country is in debt just to buy the gold. there aren't enough gold in the world for that.

I'm asking for astronomical prices on ebay though (make an offer you think is fair), and I'm not sure if i'll be violating forum policy linking to the items directly. A quick search on ebay for my ebay id (watermarked on the pictures) or the name of coins (very few if any available on ebay besides ours) should land you on the right spot.
