Oh, that dolt said the Nov 30 show was the last of the year so I missed it.

I can't imagine what made me think the statement was accurate. ;)

I hope Carr will be back on.

It's on at 7 PM E tomorrow too!

Many members of Coin Community Family may not be aware that The Knights of the Coin Table are having a medal struck for 2007. And, guess who the designer is?!

The medal should be a beauty, and D. Carr is the best, in my opinion.

Well, I guess I should explain the recent goings on.
I was commissioned to design a set of four Presidential Medallions. These medallions are my interpretation of what next year's President dollars could have looked like. In other words, if I was in charge of designing the President dollars, this is what I would do. I designed the medallions long before the Mint released any images of their proposed designs. They look like real "golden" dollar coins except that they are half a millimeter larger in diameter, thicker, and say "S1" instead of "$1".

The outfit that commissioned me to do these will be offereing them exclusively on HSN and CSN (TV). I was invited on the show to briefly discuss the designing of these and other things I've done (NY & RI quarters, etc.). I'm not involved in any of their other offerings, and I didn't discuss sales, values, etc. - only design issues.

They are offering them as a set of four for around $30 a set. Not a bad deal, considering I sell my own concept dollars for $20 each & up. I would add that their marketing of these and other products is "enthusiastic". However, everything they state about the medallions is factual and in no way misleading, in my opinion.

There are four different presidents (obverses) and two different reverses. So far, only the Statue of Liberty reverse has been shown on TV. The other reverse will debut shortly, and it may be packaged and/or priced differently - but that is totally up to them.

Here is what they look like:

PS: I'm going to work very hard on the Knights of the Coin Table medal, and I think that it is really going to be nice.

Very nice designs Daniel. Too bad the US Mint didnt consult you
I managed to see your spot on HSN last night, I just wish they would have shut up and let you talk more

Will these only be available on HSN or will you sell them through your website as well?

Thanks,
The Presidential medallions will only be available through HSN and CSN until February 17 or so (the release date for the US Mint's first Presidential dollars). At that time, HSN/CSN will stop offering the Presidential Medallions. I don't know yet if any will be available elsewhere after that.
