I just got back from my bank. I ordered my first box of halves and things are starting off pretty good.

First roll there was a 1968 40% half. I tell myself if the rest of the box is crap at least I found something. I found a 1963 Roosevelt silver dime in the 1 roll of dimes I picked up when cashing my check there last Friday.

Roll 2 I find 2 1968 40% halves. Oh man, I tell myself, this is awesome.

Roll 3 I find another 1968 40%er.

Roll 4 is another 1968 40%er.

46 more rolls to go

I guess this makes up getting skunked before I even started 2 weeks ago. My bank branch always told me they had no halves. I tried a different branch 2 weeks ago and after waiting 15 mintues for the 1 teller who had some in his drawer to come back I got 5 rolls and started chatting with him. He told me that a customer had just dropped them off already shotgun rolled up. I told myself great 5 rolls already searched. 1st of those rolls were all 1971. 2nd roll were all 1972. Third roll were all 1976. 4th and 5th rolls were mostly 1971 1972 and 1974's.

After the first 4 jackpot rolls I got skunked on the next 6 or 7 and I started getting upset (not thinking that I had just scored 5 40%ers). A few more rolls and I found a 1969. A few more later and one roll had 3 1967's and another 1968. I thought I found a classic in another roll but it ended up being a Kennedy that someone took a grinder or something to and wore down pretty flat. Halfway through the box I also found a Statue Of Liberty Commemorative half. I wonder what the other boxes sitting at the the distributor or whever boxes come from have sitting in the.

All in all I 2X 1966, 4X 1967, 10X 1968D, 1X 1969D, and a 1986D Statue of Liberty commemorative half. If I had another $500 I'd be back at the bank tomorrow ordering another box. I will be dumping the rest back into circulation until payday next month.

I also went back and reread my original post and I have to say if I read a post like that from someone I would be claiming BS but I have to say it really can happen.

Congrats. It's good to see somebody with some luck. I'm lucky when the bank teller has one in their drawer.

Nice finds!
I guess I got extremely lucky with my only Kennedy half box a few years ago. I scored 49 silvers including a bunch of 90%ers.
