After reading the posts with the high percentages of proofs and reverse proofs in this set coming back with a 70 grade, it makes me wonder. Is the mint getting really good at making perfect coins, or are the grading services getting generous with the 70 grade? Either way, it appears to me that getting a 70 grade on this set no longer makes it special, and probably not deserving of any significant premium over a lesser grade (or OGP as I prefer).
By the way, my sets are in the Sept. 28 shipping window, so I still have not seen these coins yet. I hope they are as nice as everyone suggests.

Personally I think the members that got those percentages either cherry picked what they sent in or got really lucky. I feel like I've seen more posts about poor quality coins being returned than 70s. Also some of the big websites like MCM have flat out said theyre getting fewer 70s than they thought they would from their order at least from PCGS anyway. NGC might be being a little nicer with the 70s but only the pop reports will tell whenever they start to get released

Here are the percentages from PCGS for the set (NGC not posted yet)
RP 33% 70 grade PF 33.5% 70 grade
For comparison: .. 2011-P RF had 52% 70's .. 2011-W PF had 50% 70's .. 2010-W PF was 49.5% 70's
MCM commented that they usually expect around a 50% return from their submissions and only getting 33% is a significant drop. It will be interesting to see how the NGC numbers are.

In My Opinion The numbers Foxwoods Man Posted only further prove, what I have always believed, NGC is a 2nd rate grading company and is very generous with its grades.
It is the primary reason why in the secondary market they always sell for less then PCGS.
I have not, and never will buy NGC unless I plan to break it out.
Of course it is also My Opinion That The Yankees Are Just Over Paid. They Have some Great Ball Players but anyone can win when you can buy the best "Go Soxs"

The Yankees WS win percentage is lower than PCGS's 70's percentage for this two-coin set. Nice try Erik

Thank you Foxwoods Man for posting the number. Like I've said, Congratulation to those got in early on the PCGS PF70 (the lowest price when they first listed was $259, I believed). In the same spirit regarding ASE, I've just received my 2012-W Proof and 2011-W Burnished ASE last night. The Proof has an obvious scrape mark on Liberty's neck; the Burnished has a tiny planchet flaw in the date area that's only visible if under magnify. I will have to return the Proof at least and be out about $5 for return shipping. My suggestion is please keep this thread discussion w/in the parameter of SF ASE coinage and related matter so we are not being side-track. Thank you.

So does anyone know how you change the credit card for your mint order? I found out yesterday my cards been buying several airline tickets in malasyia and had to have it killed for a new number. Thats the card I had used for the sets in october. Weird that card got found out since I barely use it but oh well. I looked around the website and couldnt find any way to change the card for the order, so if theres no way too the mintage will be dropping a little more, not as much as their quality but dropping. Interesting...
I also need to change my card. Someone had too much fun with it in Spain over the weekend, I just wish I knew who they were!

I can laugh about it now since usaa never holds me accountable for it but that's twice one of my cards has been gotten. The only time I'd used it in the last two months was with the mint purchases so everyone else might wanna keep and eye on there card just to be on the safe side

Call the mint they will change it no problem. I got 2 of my pcgs sets today and I could only be happier if I would have bought 100 instead of two lol.

Just got my other 2 silvertowne sets absolutely amazing looking. Agree with throwback only thing that would make me happier is if I ordered them all.
Who ever posted that deal first thanks again for the heads up. Had never dealt with them before but their premiums on a lot of items are the lowest I've ever seen

Thank you to whoever posted the silvertowne link to these sets. At $500 delivered for 2 PCGS MS70 sets I feel like I got a great deal. Now I just have to wait till this multi-slab thing shows up. If the price keeps going up I may have to send in my raw sealed sets to be graded. Even ordered one of the $5 bill/proof combo from the Mint as I am a complete "Mark" for any Mint product.

Those percentages are all PCGS percentages. MCM usually expects at least 50% from BOTH companies The NGC numbers for this set are not out so no comparisons can be made yet.
