My Voyageur showed up yesterday. The reverse is beautiful. I'm not to fond of the obverse.

...displaying the reverse is all that matters...

Unfortunately the coin has two side, wonder what drives the designers of this coin a simple obverse like the reverse would have been a great tribute to the 1935 dollar, those wavy marks I guess is for security

Those wavy marks detract big time from the look of the coin. Is it me, or is the frosting starting to look worse. This is a coin meant for both sides to be enjoyed! I think the frosting of the 1980,s was of higher quality, much more pleasing. The current portrait needs to be upgraded and made to look like royalty. Use a crown in next portrait. I'm not looking forward to a king Charles portrait, there wont be room for ears on our dime.

...but to "dress up" King George V, which surrounded "silver" face by gold colour was, imo, mistake. Crown only could be highlighted, or the lettering.

I received my coin today. IMO, it is great looking, both reverse and obverse. And to be honest, I do like the very low mintage, an aspect that people in this forum have expressed a strong desire for many years. Hopefully the RCM will release other relatively low cost coins with similar low mintage. Kudos to this forum for the heads up on the pending release of the coin. I grabbed a coin immediately upon receipt of the advance notice e-mail. Hopefully it will retain its investment value.

Received the coin just few minutes ago and it is amazing, the wooden box it comes with is well done on its own and the coin has a really nice finish, with the low mintage this seems like even further issues will be popular, and this coin is doing really well on ebay.

My guess he sold this coin at this price to one of his better customers or else he wouldn't have auctioned the others.

Or a mistake in listing price, he was happy to get around 6000.00 for a 10.00 roll of pennies a few years ago.

Looking at the purchase history of the listing, he sold one for 280USD and accepted best offers on the other two that were sold. I see nothing to suggest that he sold at issue price.
More likely edited the purchase price on the listing to be issue price AFTER the coins where sold for substantially more.

Hi didn't sell it fo issue. Check the purchase history. He reduced the price AFTER he sold his last coin. He wanted to keep his listing attractive while the quantity available is zero and buyers would not buy from the other sellers patiently waiting for his stock to be refilled.
Edit: CC-Ottawa, you definitely have time machine.
