I think it's a mintstate coin, harshly cleaned.
Odd that such a rare coin, only two thousand minted, would be raw.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

I wouldn't care if it was 'baggy' or not..

Very nice pickup, very low mintage coin and, BTW the only one I am missing.

AU details on account of the cleaning but, still nice.

Actually, I'm also missing a couple more..

i'll stick my neck out and say AU with original surfaces..these coins when found in mint state, often have very PL characteristics and this one looks like it did too..the reflective fields make every little scratch stand out more than usual. the only thing I see causing a possible details grad here is the scrape on the jaw..
Feel free to call me Will.

I tend to agree it's AU straight despite a short (tough) life on the streets.

I am in the "details" crowd as well... with a light bit of rub it looks like around the eyebrow I'd say AU...

Appreciate all of the opinions on grade guys but this pretty well sums it up for me and alludes to why I purchased this coin. The camera along with the mirrored fields really emphasize the blemishes and even though it does have several deficiencies (including a decent rub behind the head), I am optimistic this coin will not get a details grade.

You really have to see this coin in hand, it does not look half as busy as the pictures show. Of course, being a coin as rare as this, I'm sure it will get a lot of scrutiny and I'm prepared for an unfavorable grade.

This is definitely one that I will send for grading and I will update the thread in the future. Thanks.

Perhaps some additional pictures would help. There is a similar one on Heritage NGC graded AU Details (Scratches). https://coins.ha.com/itm/canada/wor...bnail-071515

Interesting ...
Usually I think the grade is higher than the Canadian collectors.
So I went a lower than I would think a similar U.S. coin would grade.

The OP says it has mirrored fields, now I can understand that,
I have trouble getting good pictures on coins like this.

I'd be very careful of ungraded coins these days.

How I graded this straight is beyond me. It is clearly cleaned and harshly so.
