The main lettering at the edge of the coins has a pronounced indent at bottom in most of the letters. I tried to attribute this coin and it looks like a BB-165, B-8, R-2. 1799 Draped Bust/Heraldic Eagle Dollars, Obverse Stars Arranged 7 left & 6 right, Normal Date/9's without Spurs, LIBERTY evenly spaced between stars.

But this variety does not have the pronounced indent at bottom of lettering. Mike, did the seller give the variety of the coin, or have you researched it?

Mike, great purchases!

I believe the indents at the bottom of the letters are due to inadequate striking pressure causing poor filling of the letters, rather than being intrinsic to the die. So that attribution is probably correct.

No it wasn't provided. They really don't affect the value at auctions from what I've seen.
