I ordered and received one of these sets last Thursday. No problems with the packaging, the note nor the coin. An interesting and informative set to have. I since went out and ordered the companion sets from 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Recall that in my first two sets, the dollars were offset in different directions. I received my two replacement sets today:

2019-Native-American-$1-Coin-&-Currency-Set

Same direction, but offset by more than the first two.

I'm considering whether to try to drag them into the window, but this is absolutely not my job.

I ordered two sets. One the dollar bill was aligned perfectly, the other was off by an inch or so inside the packaging. I'm thinking that set may be the one I send the coin in to a TPG to see what that process is like for myself. I've never done that before, and they say you don't forget your first time.

Nope, but it's not terribly difficult to knock out. This was a very disappointing release from a quality perspective.

I received this set in the mail today, which proves that the US Mint still hasn't corrected the misaligned bill situation. Usually, I wouldn't hesitate to send this damaged set straight back to the Mint, but look at the Serial Number...
If you received this set with this serial number (19591959), what would you do? I'm thinking of just opening the packaging and putting the note in my currency album.

I would not send that particular one back but would try to fix it myself instead.

Likewise. It seems that people are having mixed luck getting replacements.

Or they're reshipping returns as many people suspect they do.

I would just remove that bill and order another set if you want an intact one.

It was my first thought.

I have a PMG Grading question:

I would like to have the note contained within my "Native American $1 Coin & Currency Set 2019" graded by PMG. In order to obtain a Coin and Currency Set designation on the PMG label, I realize I must submit the note in its Original Goverment Packaging (OGP). My question is: Do I remove the Sac coin from the OGP before I send the note in to PMG for grading (because I have no interest in having the coin graded by NGC)?
Or does removing the coin from the OGP invalidate the note from receiving a Coin and Currency Set designation on the PMG label?
Thanks for any advice you may have.

hi captainrich,

Call PMG and verify how it needs to get done. I will say this though, the coin capsule is easy to remove from the set if you intended to remove it, easier than removing the bill.

What I found:
"Coins received by NGC and PMG within the first 30 days of their release are eligible for NGC and PMG's Early Releases and First Releases designations. Learn more about NGC Early Releases and First Releases here. For NGC Early Releases / First Releases cutoff dates, click here.

Submission Instructions
Please note: Coins and notes can be submitted individually, but the notes must be received intact in their original panel to qualify for the Coin & Currency Set pedigree. All coins and notes submitted must be graded.
Submit the coins and notes from this set under the NGC and PMG Modern grading tiers or higher. Use an NGC Submission Form for coins and a PMG Submission Form for notes.
If you would like Mint packaging returned, select "Return Mint Packaging" on the submission form. The fee is $5 plus the cost of shipping."

So, I would say you can remove the coin capsule and keep the bill window and packaging intact and send in just the bill.

Not sure why anyone would get the bill graded though. Seems counter productive to me.

Thanks for the info Big-Kingdom.

The reason I want to get my note in a PMG holder with the Coin and Currency Set pedigree is that the serial number is 19591959 (I posted an image of the set on this thread back on 8/31/2019). The bill is slightly off center in the OGP, so I'd like to perserve any potential value of the fancy serial number by having it placed in a PMG holder.

Thanks again!

Ahhh. Makes sense. I'm still not sure it's worth the cost to do it but I understand you wanting it removed professionally so not to damage it.

I'm not a currency collector so no idea. Lol
