Years ago, I once had a seller file an unpaid claim against me, even though payment was already sent for three lots of junk silver. He acknowledged payment, sent the coins, but the shipment contained only about 70% of the coins I was supposed to receive. He didn't answer any e-mails after that, but more importantly, he never closed the unpaid item claim. Because of that, I could not open a "not as described" claim against him. The unpaid item case eventually expired, but after the time passed for me to make a claim. Maybe ebay and PayPal policies have changed since then, but I've never had that situation arise again so I don't know. But I hope that scenario doesn't happen to you.

I don't know, looks real to me. Just polished to death. I went and looked at the listing because I thought it was probably consignmenthub.

I paid after the unpaid item was placed, so its already closed. he told me if I'm not satisfied to to return it so I don't think theres anything shady going on there.

Thank you for following up! I don't see any of the problems now that others mentioned as far as the 8, B, last T in TRUST, etc. You paid about AU55 price for it, right? What do you think now that it's in hand?

yes, 470. I think I overpaid, obverse looks cleaned but its difficult for me to judge as I don't have any experience in judging these things. hopefully someone will chime in and shed some light.

I know the pics are the same coin, but it sure doesn't LOOK like the same coin!
Cleaned for sure, doctored original photos for sure, too.
If you paid more than xf/au money I'd seriously consider sending the coin back for a refund.

The coin you received and posted photos of is not the same coin in the photos you originally posted. I would stay away from this seller, something smells here.

Good for you, glad you are sending it back. Orig photos doctored for sure to hide the harsh cleaning.

It certainly looks like the same coin to me IndianGoldEagle - all the dings on the obverse are the same. kdrcoinzz, seems like you made the right call.

It's the same coin, I'll call it genuine, it has been very harshly cleaned. For $470, you can pick up a high AU or lower MS example, in a reputable TPG slab, and not have to worry about scamming sellers. Seller definitely post-processed the life out of the coin, hence the unnatural-appearing and almost too pristine surfaces.

Must have been some creative photo work on those first photos.
