I sent in my best coin, the one I used in the CN Journal article on this coin (came back MS-64R).

PCGS #819448 (for MS Red coins).

I have added it to my Showcase set on small cent varieties:

nice one and nice collection, I love looking through these collections on PCGS and the pics are good but I have always found their photos hard to make out alot of the varieties, they need a zoom feature
please check out my collection of large cents from 1858 - 1920 (click link below, you DO NOT need a facebook account to view)

I have the True View high resolution photos - I could always zoom in and add them to the showcase.

Awesome!

I saw this post an ran to my penny bin...

I think I have 2 great examples (and 2 possible candidates)

One shows clear DDO of "D.G.REGINA"

The second of only the "NA"

Meandice, to the CCF.

Close, but the photos you provided show Machine Doubling unfortunately.

The DDO has clear split Serifs in "REGINA" and you can see a completely separated "E".

Like the following photo

They say coin roll hunting is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.... I think it went something like that, I was too busy looking at coins.

This is my very first error coin I found that got me hooked.

Meandice can you take a full picture of your obverse and reverse. if you can post them please. your coins could be doubled. by condition known as flat field doubling. if it is need full images. I like to make sure by checking the coins pivot point. that way we will know for sure. also so you know flat doubling is very collect able.

Rocky, as far as I'maware "flat field doubling" is only on proof coins, an the coins Meandice posted dont look like proofs by any means.

I've got more than a handful of coins exactly like the ones Meandice posted straight from Original bank wrapped rolls for 1967 in MS condition and they all look like Machine Doubling to me IMO. I've done the overlays, the devices are reduced drastically compared to a normal cent (device reduction = Machine Doubling) I'mnot convinced it is anything more than that.

Meandice single-squeeze peripheral design doubling. your coin is not machine doubled this is the form of doubling on your coin. http://www.error-ref.com/doubled-dies/ here is an excellent link if you want to read up on this. here is the images. see nothing else is doubled on your coin.

To me, that is almost the definition of Die Deterioration Doubling. This is no type of hub doubling. It would be an error, not a variety.

Meandice JohnWayne007 asked here on this form some time ago. about the hubbing process. DBM informed him john that the mints process is a single hubbing. this form of doubling is considered very rare on single hubbing.
