out of that list I voted for the Washington quarter but only before the State Quarters I really like the eagle on the reverse plus I think it looks really nice in high grades.

i would have voted for the Sacagawea dollar but you did not list that as an option I love the design on that coin

I collect all of the ones you have listed. I have all of them completed, except for the Lincoln Cents; I am missing five key dates. I am having a difficult time picking a favourite since each has something that appeals to me.

I went for Washington quarters but only the 1932-1998 series. I definitely like it because I am currently assembling an AU/MS set(except for 32D&S, 36D) and that is quite a challenge. Many of the pre-1940 coins have a huge jump in value from AU to MS so it is hard to find nice, somewhat affordable examples. I never realized how truly tough of a set this is until I started it. Looking in the RedBook, figuring out your budget, and then totaling prices is one thing but to actually try and find the coins in those conditions is a different matter all together. I have spent three years on this so far, with myself looking at a few shows a year and a brief case dealer working for me at shows as well. If it wasn't for him I might be 2/3 done instead of missing only four coins. And he only charges me between Greysheet bid and ask to boot

I would have to say the Washington quarters are my second favorite. I like the well circulated look from the early 70's

Lincolns for sure. I find something great in almost every series, which to be honest kills my pocketbook :)

Out of that list, I'd say it's the nickels for me.
When I started collecting as a kid, nickels were
something I could collect out of pocket. Silver
was out of circulation for 15 years and starting
to dry up, I didn't have any money to buy anything,
and the nickels being unchanged for 50 years made it
easy to find old ones. I could pick 38s, 39s, and war
years out of my pocket. So it is a dear series for
me personally. That said, you didn't list Franklins.
They are rare in circulation, but they are still very
modern coins and a good series to collect IMO. So I
would have gone Franklin if he was on the list.

Sure, just ignore the darksiders!

As far a modern series go, I like the Russian 10 Roubles followed by the Polish 2 Zlotes.

I like IKE and JFK series the best. You also left off the increasingly popular Presidential dollar series

I think the goal of this poll was to see what current modern US coins are being collected. That said, my beloved Eisenhower dollar, which I would have voted for, was not eligible; but the baby dollars should have been included.

I like the Jefferson nickel series. I like to collect the full steps and I also like to find the nicely toned ones.

I feel as if my decision is based a lot like ratio411's is and going back to your childhood. For me it has always been the Lincolns and for moderns will always be that way because I can always look back and connect with them in one way or another. It also was easy to collect them and fill my Whitman folder and replace them with better conditioned ones later on. I also collected nickels and dimes but for some reason have always stayed with the Lincolns.

Jeffersons obviously for me, started collecting these mostly because, sometimes a nice shiny AU coin from the 30's 40's or 50's can pop up in change any any time.
This series, until just recently, has been pretty much unchanged in general appearance for almost 70 years. So many still get overlooked. ( except the ones I've managed to capture )
