My current project for this year, I only need 4 more coins for the non gold set.
There are numerous that need upgrades mainly the copper (large cents, Half Cents, small cents, Two Cent Piece.) & capped bust series. I am mainly just trying to fill the slots and will purchase nicer examples when I can.
I have started to upgrade a handful of my favorite coins such as the Indian Head cent, type 1 Standing quarter & Barber coinage.
I have also made some personal alterations such as instead of a common clad Roosevelt I have put a 1892 50 Centimos - Alfonso XIII. As well as instead of a 1976 bicentennial I have widened the holes and put 1776 reales. Of which I have the 2, 4, & 8 reales from that year. I have yet to widen the hole for the 2 reales as the size of the quarter and reale is greater than expected and will take quite a while.
I have been slowing down recently but here is my progress so far, I have included a few close-ups of my upgraded coins.

Picked this one & a nicer one up at a local auction. Unfortunately it has some spotting on the reverse. The other one was nicer & I gave it to my brother.

Really like the toning on this on, unsure if its artificial as in hand it has alot more blue. so it beat out my other high grade one for the spot.

Nice set, you are getting close to completing. The gold page will get expensive.

Super neat, thanks for sharing! I enjoy seeing other people's progress on their type sets. Both the classic head large cent and the Seated dollars are by far the most difficult to get problem free. Best of luck to you completing the set!

Congratulations on getting this far so far. Type Sets are so much fun, having one coin of each design type. I love 'em!

A wonderful accomplishment in any condition. I like that you were able to include a pillar dollar as it is often considered "America's First Dollar". Kudos!

I like the strategic use of the recent reverse proof cent and nickel.

You are well on your way! As you are well aware, and it has been my experience that finding a corrosion/problem free "Classic head" large cent is going to be one of your toughest tasks.
As for cracking out coins.......DO IT, a hole in the book is always a hole no matter how many slabs you have. Drive on.

Nice set! Type sets of coins and currency are my main areas of interest - I love the variety that collecting by type offers.

well.. well.. well... its been awhile

I liked the overall look of the classic cent.. lower price helped as well. Not much for ED & isn't worn slick. Has some edge notches but I think it is a good "hole filler" for now & will serve its purpose quite well. 1812 Classic -

My-Intercept-Shield-Typeset-Project
My-Intercept-Shield-Typeset-Project

Also an upgrade, in hand not as dark but does have some strange "residue" around the stars & Motto.. Has great detail though! - 1833 Capped Half

My-Intercept-Shield-Typeset-Project

Now the next hunt begins, the Capped Bust quarter . Hoping for a relatively nice xf but am also hoping it wont take me 2 years
