I'm not that sharp on Trade dollars, but was sure that it was. an ebay seller by the name of
kloccwork419 is the one who has it for sale under item # 250374939040 . It appears that he bought it out of China and plans on trying to make big bucks on it by selling it as a real
Trade dollar.

Okay...I must be as blind as a bat and missing the obvious...what is the key indicator(s) of this being fake. The design elements seems correct to me, but the picture makes the coin seem a bit oblique.
Rest in Peace

Looks pretty washed out. Some Chinese fakes are really sharp, so I don't know what's with this.

It looks like it was harshly cleaned and/or polished, but I'm not seeing precisely why so many see it as a fake. I'm prepared to look like a fool now, I guess.

I'll be standing next to you, Prethen.. I don't see anything obvious either. I'm going to do an overlay and see if something jumps out.

Hmm...I don't collect these, but comparing to examples on Heritage, I see the legends (particularly "TRADE") are oddly thin and details drop out. Looks pressure-case to me.
