Many rolls and single "P" mint Jefferson's have been selling at outrageous prices for a couple months now. The prices are dipping, but they might stabilize at around $1.00 to $1.50 for a baggy nicked-up UNC and hopefully somebody will start getting some of the better mint state gems graded and offer them for sale.
I have not seen anyone ask about or report having seen a single 2009 D Jefferson anywhere. What is the Denver mint doing with these? Waiting for the mint sets to get released to sell more sets ( even though they will have a matte finish ) and have them stored for now in a warehouse at the taxpayers expense?
If anyone has seen or hears of a released D mint 2009 nickel or sees a reputable graded and slabbed 2009 P please PM me. Thanks!

This is probably my fault. I told everybody except you to hoard the new Nickels just so you and I wouldn't get one.
Seriously, I havent heard of anyone finding any of the Denver mint ones yet either and I have some people out west looking for me. I have to wonder if the entire mintage is in a warehouse somewhere. Heck I still havent found anything dated 09 here is SE Michigan yet. I do have some of the rolls of the Cents from trades etc though.
Keep us up to date on this.

ima thinking that there have been no orders by any of the western feds for nickels and so the mint hasnt shipped them anywhere yet, if thats the case we're likely to see ultra ultra low mintage numbers outof denver next year. -XoG

I read somewhere...can't remember where... that they were going to try to mix them in with other dates to avoid hoarding...anyone else hear that?

No nickels in Central KY yet, and I search 200-300 rolls per week. They just aren't out there!

Maybe it's a conspiracy... Can you buy a roll directly from the mint itself? Can you get them other than from dealers? Do they even exist...? A local dealer tells me that the mints themselves are hoarding them, just to be able to sell them at inflated prices.

I would think the Mint would sell the 2009-Dime and Nickel rolls, they sell just about everything else, 2009-there is always something new being sold at the good old U S Mint......PS: I bought some B U Rolls from E-Bay last week, about a dollar apiece, I waited and my faith ran out......

Nope, the only nickels that have been sold directly were the Westward Expansion nickels a few years ago and dimes have never been directly available. The $1 coins are sold via Direct Ship for $250 face value and 2009 Lincoln cents, Kennedy halves, and Territory quarters are available from the Mint in rolls and bags but they sell for a considerable premium over face value.
