My wife and I were told that tossing a coin into the Fountain of Trevi meant it was a guarantee you would come back to Rome again in the future. We went on to other countries on the trip.

On the way home our plane detoured and landed in Rome for a stop brief enough no one got off of the plane.

It worked...just not the way we would have liked.
