I stopped in this Antique mall to see if they had any junk silver coins or other coins. To my suprise they had some Morgans/Peace/BookerT/Columbian Expedition coins. (some very high grade.

They also had 4-5 War Nickels all very high grade. They don't look cleaned. They were $6 bucks each.

They also had a 1932 D Quarter in bad shape but they year and mint mark were evident. The other parts were very worn. It had no price but I think I could get it cheap.

What do you think? Are the War Nickels to high?

The War Nickels seem to be retail price to me for raw coins. However, if you know more about Jefferson's than the seller you may have a shot at picking up something that is worth more. My advice is to read everything you can about the coin and try to learn as much as you can so you can tell if these are very nice AU coins or true MS coins. MS-64-65 and above Jefferson nickels are worth more than $6.

Also determine if it is worth it to you. In other words, would you enjoy tying your $6 each into these nickels. If so, then you know your answer.

It is similar to this thread in the Classic forum...

https://goccf.com/t/102271

This newer thread adds mention of the War Nickels and Washington quarters, which are modern coins.

We will allow it because of the different target audience, but please keep this one relevant to the modern coins.

yes...I realised that there were coins in both modern and classic areas...I was trying to split them to get the best responses. I wasn't trying to double post. Thanks for the understanding
