So a forum buddy and I have been haggling a trade out now for several months, and finally came to a conclusion. Anyways, I upgraded my 1916 slq to a VG8 ANACS example. The detail level is quite similar to my G-4(which I traded to him), but this one has much more "date" visible! It's not all there, but it's actually readable at this stage Anyways, just got her in the mail yesterday. Here are some initial shots:

I will hopefully get some better pics in later

When I see key dates that have this much wear, I wonder who has actually let this pass through their hands.

Nice one! Less than 52,000 (fairly certain that some have fell into an abyss somewhere along time) have been able to say that they possess what you have right now.

How many more 1916s will you have to pick from lots to get a free upgrade to F12? :)

Congrats - awesome coin to own! You've got two amazing keys now (along with the 1856 FE).
Rest in Peace

John, you should know that I can't give out classified information like that!

Thanks for your comments all. The look of this one is starting to grow on me, it is a very nice piece. The toning is not as sharp as my G4 example, but it has a nice subtle hrown hazing towards the extremities on boths sides which is quite nice. I can't say it's strong fo the grade as it's really more average, but it is an extremely pleasing piece that will look nice velcroed in my Dansco. Now I just need to find a nice elusive 1919-D at a reasonable price in order to complete my set in vg+
