I saved this one from circulation. There is a superficial hit on the reverse that the picture exaggerates. Is this one AU?

Yes I think it is a weak strike or late die state AU53.
edit: and I like it! Tough coin to pop up in circulation.

I just figured out that this was basically the 70,000th nickel I've searched through in rolls. Not exactly 1 in a million coin, but kinda rare to find in a roll in this condition none-the-less.

Nice find! I think this may pull off a AU-55/58.

I search nickles now and then and I have to say, "I would love to find a nickle that nice!"

If it was pulled from circulation than it's an AU no doubt, LOL.

Sorry I missed this somehow the first time around ... I'm thinking AU55 or so ... excellent roll find indeed. Quote: If it was pulled from circulation than it's an AU no doubt, LOL I humbly disagree with that observation ... I've found many MS coins from roll finds ... just because they were released to the public does not mean that their state of preservation has downgraded to AU. David

David Wasn't being serious (hence the LOL) maybe I should have used or I agree unciculated coins can come from public sources bank rolls, from a cashier, etc.
