Picked up my first $250 dime box today from the bank. When I sat down in my car I peaked into the box and saw all shiny coins laying atop. I went through one roll and they are all 2011 P uncirculated. Of course it is entirely up to me to hunt them, however it would make me more decisive to know if any of you have ever found any nice errors, proof, silver, ... anything out of the ordinary dimes in a box that appears to be all uncirculated. Those of you who have searched an unc box, is it worth the time to look through them, or would you suggest taking them to my drop bank for another day to dime hunt? Thanks,

-Adam

I would bet that you have 100% BU 2011 P Roosevelt dimes. If it were me, knowing that the value is 10 cents each, I would take them back and get my $250.00, perhaps you can use the money for a mixed date box at a different bank? I suppose there are some superb uncirculated dimes in there, maybe a clipped coin, but these dimes are common as can be and the odds are slim. You will not find any proof or silver coins in there, I would bet on that, there is no reason for that to happen since these are surely all the same date from the mint.
Anyway, I don't know much about any varieties to look for in that year and mint.
Maybe somebody else would think it is a great opportunity to find something I don't know about.
Rest in Peace

TheNickelGuy is probably right ---but you'll never know unless up get out your loupe and look at each one. And I would, but then that's my idea of fun. The odds aren't great but I get ridiculously happy when I find a keeper.

Same kind of circumstances - but with quarters. And I found a blank planchet in the roll!

Personally, I'd take them back and trade for a mixed box.
