Hello. Recently, I have heard several times that some people have found intersting finds form Coinstar. I have one at my local Safeway, by there's a fee of 11% (which is a lot) for a single use. Do you have any idea how to use it and what it is good for a coin collector? Any ideas on rates? How about the ones in the United States? Is it also true that counterfeits are common in this machine due to the reason that no one would look at your coins before you insert them?
Thank you for reading I look forward to hearing your reply with great anticipation

The only good thing about coinstar is the reject tray Why would you let these sharks hose you down for 10% or more of the coins your dumping. I have found $20 or $30 in modern US change, a jar full of foreign coins and numerous wheat cents as well as around 7 or 8 silver US dimes since I started checking them Everytime I go to the supermarket the coinstar reject tray is my 1st stop

Probably your best bet would be to get the franchise to own and operate one!

I have pulled silver coins and lots of foreign coins from the reject tray as I just pass by.

Would love to get the coinage from one of those machines. I to have one at my Safeway and the kids run to see if they can find anything in the reject tray. Most of the time they get more out in the parking lot from returning shopping cart for the quarters. 11% is robbery when some credit unions charge 5%

Always finding "goodies" in those reject trays! Like mentioned above, CoinStar machines are my first stop in any store I go into.

The slot that the machine kicks rejected coins into.

The reject tray is like a coin return on vending machines but on coinstar it spits out the coins it will not except. Some people just do not look there when finished
