Ok, so be it either me being stubborn, seeing things that aren't there or just the mad desire to have found a 1972 ddo-4 in my pocket I continued to toil at the this same coin. I upgraded my photography equipment and software and have a whole new set of pictures to show everyone. Hopefully this will give me the courage I need to have the coin professionally appraised.

Thought the VDB just kind of looked funny and hadn't seen any examples of what it might look like on a DDO-4:

Here is where the die crack is supposed to exist North of the L in Liberty:

Looking closely at EPU you can see incredible similarities between known examples and this:

I believe this coin is in stage A, so the lines are hard to see, but looking closely you can see one above and below the center line my arrow points to:

Also, very tough to see, but compared to known examples it exists exactly where it should:

Lastly I took a shot of the tell-tale parallel lines below the memorial:

I really can't tell if I'm stubborn or if this is the real deal. So with these new (much bettet, I might add) pics let me know what you all think, please!

With-out checking, and IF my memory is correct the 1972 004-DDO Cent has the motto on the Obverse doubled in a "counter-clockwise" direction, like the coin you show!!!!!I do not recall any PUP'S about any known Reverse dies...Good Luck...PS, Welcome to the site!!!!

The minor doubling you are seeing appears to be Machine Doubling.

old thread guyz, and to answer the question no the 004 is not Master hub doubling its one of the few 72s with a counterclockwise rotation if that is what you were asking...otherwise I think Jayman may have answered you
