Hi Trainerman Your stats look a bit like my recent noodling efforts !. For example, quite a few 50 cent Millennium coins, but no incused Quite a few $1 Henry Parkes, but all in pretty crappy condition No luck in finding any of Larena's 2010 20 cent bubble coins yet Frequent New Zealand 20 cent impostors, though I did find a NZ round 50 cent piece recently. Quite a few coins in good condition, so I can constantly update and replace the existing $1, 50 cent and 20 cent coins with better ones. So my collection is constantly improving . I have 50 dollars worth of 50 cent pieces to look through tonight. I wonder if there is a 2000 millennium incused, or a 2010 "twist top" hiding amongst these !. Squire

I would have been very happy with that number of States in $50 of 20's!

I am collecting commemorative 20c, 50c and $1 coins only from pocket change. I have estimated when the 2 litre container is full, there will be about $350 in commemorative coins only. I will build a type set out of the best of them, and do a statistical analysis on the lot. Will post the results.
About 1/3 full just now , should take a year or so to fill up.

Squire, yes I'm doing the same by replacing coins in my collection with better ones when they come along. FNQ, first time I've noodled the 20c. sel, I've got the wife and daughters looking at their small change daily.

Well, after the recent lean times, I have finally had a streak of luck ! Last night I noodled through my latest batch of $50 worth of 50 cent pieces. I found the following: 1 x 1988 First Fleet 1x 2002 Year of the Outback 2 x 2010 Australia Day 1 x 1995 60 Anniversary End of WWII 1 x 1994 Year of the Family narrow date 3 x 1998 Bass and Flinders 3 x 1993 Australian Volunteers 2 x 2005 Commonwealth Games 5 x 1982 Commonwealth Games 5 x 2001 Centenary of Federation 1 x 1995 Weary Dunlop 2 x 2001 Centenary of Federation - Tasmania 1 x 2001 Centenary of Federation - New South Wales 2 x 2000 Millenium year (not incused) and...... one 2000 Millenium year (incused !!!!!!) Yay .... happy days are here again . Pics attached below Squire That is my second one (RHS), and it is in better condition than my first "Maribyrnong WestPac Bank" coin (LHS) !

How good is that. The Centenary of Federation States have low mintage, 2 to 3 million only, so I think they are good finds. Same as the incused, low mintage. Wish I could find one. I have to buy one.

Hang in there Trainerman. Persistent noodling will eventually "wrinkle out" those incused 50 cent pieces for you . For example, I normally noodle 200 to 300 50 cent pieces per week. I found the first incused on the 16th of January 2012, and the second last night. On both occasions, they were a surprise to me. On both occasions, they "made my day" !!. Look forward to seeing your first "incused", when you find it in your change, Trainerman. Good luck Squire

Incuse 50c have been very hard to find for me. I have only found 1 and have looked through thousands of dollars of 50c.

I very rarely noodle but have still managed to snag an incuse 2000 I got in my change at the boozer at Pannawonica early this year. The other guys that work with me couldn't understand it when I jumped up exclaiming " You bloody little beauty " and holding my prize aloft

They eventually come out. I've lost track of the 50c I have now noodled but it would be several tens of thousands of dollars worth and have found 4 incuse. Theyre much less frustrating than the wavy 66 and I'm starting to think i'll never find another one of them.

Well done on finding that Incused 50 cent. I'm still waiting for one... Those States coins are getting very hard to get by noodling, especially the 20's. I went through $100 of 20c earlier today and only found the one. 2 Bradmans was ok, but no UN's or either of the Volunteer ones in the 500 coins I went through... Trainerman, did you check for rotated die 2010 50 cents? Ooooh, I'd love to bag one of these...Squire refers to them as Twist Tops - I like that!!

Hi penny-dreadful (also trainerman) I think you are putting in an awesome "noodling" effort . So I think it will only be a matter of time (not too much time, judging by the number of coins that you are going through) before you will find an incused. Funny thing is, the incused design is clear, but not striking. So after looking at the nth 2000 millenium coin, , you suddenly realise "You Bloody Little Beauty" (to quote trout1105) !. Also, with your conscientious recording you will be in a good position to work out statistics - eg. Chance of finding an "incused" Chance of finding a "wavy" Chance of finding a "2000 $1/10 cent mule". All the best Squire
