just got back from my local credit union. I went to cash my check and when I go there, there was a gentleman infront of me that was cashing in his father's coins for him. the coin machine wouldn't take his SBA's, Kennedy halves, and Ike dollars. So, he was in line to cash them in for "real money" as he put it. When I got to the cashier, I handed her my check and asked if there was any way to get his coins in return for some of my money. She said absolutely. Long story short, the Ikes (12 in all) helped fill two spots in my collection. The SBA (7 in all) are now just extras, and the halves yeilded 3 silver pieces. one was a 1964 and two were "S" mint. not too shabby!
I had a notion to ask the teller about those bags. not sure if they would sell them or not. He had a coffee can size time full of change (all silver in color no lincoln cents). Wonder how much silver went in there.
