What are some of the greatest cherrypicks you've made this year? In the past even! So far, my top would be my most recent pick straight off ebay! 1870 Indian cent. AG environmental damage DDO/MPD FS-102 Snow-5 What's yours?

I think my best so far was a lot of 3-1921 Morgans picked up for $45 off ebay (back when that was about melt). One of them was a VAM-47 - the die used for the Zerbe Proofs - which made NGC MS63PL. I got $550 for it.

my best ever pick was actually a coin that I was looking at and was purchased for me by a friend. I had looked at it for awhile and was trying to save up to purchase it myself and when a friend of mine asked me what I wanted for Christmas I jokingly said this coin. About a week later she brought it to my house. This coin turned out to be my VAM-85 Discovery Coin. If I am not mistaken the coins cost was $1200.00 and was in a NGC MS-64DPL slab and it has been estimated to be worth at least $10,000.00 or more if I was to sell it at auction. But I hope to never sell it and can leave it with all the documentation to my family. The thing about the coin when I was wanting it I just thought it was a VAM-80 because I looked at the long nock and the disconnected tail feathers and then immediately went to the Obverse of the coin to see which VAM it was and since it has the VAM-80 Obverse and a disconnected leaf and since there had been no new B1 Reverse Morgans found since 1965 I just figured it was a VAM-80 and I wanted it for an upgrade to the one I had at that time

1901-P Morgan shifted eagle off ebay, as a regular date no variety listed. It's cleaned but for $30.00 who cares! Now it's in a nice ANACS holdered VF details grade! Picked the 1868/9 2¢ piece posted here on CCF about this one. Two 1867 DDO 2¢ pieces both under Fine condition, but purchased as regular non variety coins. Also picked up a nice VF hotlips morgan for common money.

Found in my local coin shop $10 "junk" bin a couple years back. I've cherried more valuable coins but this is my favorite because at the time I had no idea what I had found! I studied up on the history of this coin and why it existed, and I learned something very interesting about New Orleans Mint history. Without the holes, the BV is over $2,000. The Huge "O" mintmark is probably the result of a die being shipped to New Orleans from Philadelphia without the mintmark added (at this time, and up until the mid-1990's, all mintmarks were added to dies in Philadelphia). Back in the 1850's it would have taken a very long time to ship the die back to Philadelphia, have the mintmark added, and wait for it to return. Since the New Orleans Mint did not have an "O" punch on hand, somebody there decided to try to hand-engrave it. The result was an oversized, misshapen mintmark. I read somewhere that about 35 of these are known.
