I am not sure about the 2000p quarters because they never come up for sale. Again I don't own any of them.
I would think the 48 dollar in MS-65 and MS-66 will continue the one the other day sold for 71 000$ + taxes = +- 80 000$ it was graded by ICCS as MS-66 (1 OF 2 known....nice buy for the person who got it).

As a general rule, 1921, a coin which is difficult to find today will be difficult to find in the future. And a coin which is "popular" today may not be popular tomorrow. Coins are not and have never been a good investment. But if you follow my two suggestions you will be in a better position long-term that a lot of "collectors' who are only in it to make a profit. Example: a 1964 proof set. Every one wanted a new Kennedy half dollar. It has taken more than forty years to trend for more than the purchase price. And not by much. Compare to: a 1913-S quarter. I was not looking for one, but when the opportunity presented itself I bought it after 20 minutes of deliberation. Trends for about four times the original price after 20 years. Never confuse "desirability" with "popularity." Oh yes, the Canadian 1948 dollar has always been both popular and desirable. Perhaps that is the best scenario.

Thanks!! Do you still think there is potential in the 1921 5 cent and 1921 50 cent coins?
I know that a 1921 5 cent graded ICCS VG-08 sold the other day for about 7500$ that is a lot for that grade.

OK. Maybe a set of 1948 from cent to half dollar in high condition. You will have to research on your own the track record but they will always be necessary to complete these sets. Mintages are all low, correct?

Yes the 48 dollar is below 19 000 and the 21 5 cent is about 480 and about 75 for the 1921 50 cent piece.

I cannot speak to the half but I do remember that the nickel has always been tough to find and costly. Perhaps a high grade circulated example would make a good bet. Did you say "VG-8?" 7500? I cannot believe that.
My mistake. I am confusing it with the cent.

Welcome to CCF 1921. IMO any Victorian coins in all denominations should be a good investment long term.

Thanks I will try to track the past history of sales for Victorian coins mostly 50 cent pieces since they are my passion.

Buy coins because you love them. If you break even at the end of the day you're ahead of most. Odds are somebody will win the lottery. Odds are it won't be you.

Something like 480 known 1921 5c. That's somewhat scarce, and yet it commands a massive premium. Probably piggy-backing on the 50c. I'm guessing people jealously hold onto those 1921 5c. They should be seen more often.
This topic has two approaches:
(1) Valuable things today which are good investments for the future
1921 5c 1966 $1 small beads 2000p dime
(2) Bargains today which could skyrocket in the future:
1932 5c far 2 in high grade 1929 high 9 in very high grade 1946c Newfoundland 5c 1965 specimen set
That last one probably suffers from the fact that few people know they even exist. And, I believe, they were packaged like PL sets.
