I wonder if the Norwegian 2 Ore might depict a Black Grouse. They are known and indeed hunted in Scandinavia. I know Krause has it as a Moor hen but I think they are wrong.

Hey Harrison, good to see you too. Any decent meican silver? Still looking for late Libertads! OK, sorry guys, back to the issue at hand...I tried to find my Phillipines coins; but I think I threw them all in the river at a small city near Cubi point. All I could find from Guatemala was the Quetsel; looks like a big chicken, but is actually the Country bird. Still looking ot post and let yu know about Panama.

Quote: I wonder if the Norwegian 2 Ore might depict a Black Grouse I believe it's a depiction of a Moorhen. I will check all my 'bird' coins to see if I have any Chicken / Rooster coins not yet mentioned here.

Somaliland has a rooster coin as well.... I think it is around the year 2002? Norway 1972 2 ORE coin has a chicken. I also have a Cook Island rooster coin, 1 Cent from 2003. I have a Uganda 2004 100 lingsshil coin with just the rooster head on it. I think I might have one other too but I will have to search through my collection to find it. I am an avid animal coin collector. My fiancee has an obsession with kangaroos, so every time I find one of those I snag it up too. Hope this helps you out!

Most of the coins that I mentioned are pretty common and can be found for under $2-3 each.
