I check the coin star going into Wal-mart each time we go grocery shopping. The other day as we were going in I saw a few coins and ran over and pulled them out and found a 45P Silver Nickel! As well as a shiny Canadian cent. The only other luck I've ever had was finding a silver Roosevelt about a month ago.

I only really search one coin star and have been on a skunk streak, but today did see something. Turn out to be 1 - 1965 Canadian Cent, 1- 1982 1 Pfennig and 1 Rosie Dime 2016

Related but not coin star. Three recent finds. #1Last week stopped out of state for gas & drink paying in cash, noticed the give a penny and take a penny on the counter with a couple nickels and dimes mixed in. Instantly my eyes recognized the gun metal look of a silver war nickle. When I got my change I politely asked if I could put in a dime for those two nickels, checked in the car a 1943P.

#2 This weekend 1944 Wheat cent in change.

#3 Last night noticed some change and a couple ones my wife put on the kitchen counter. Again noticed the silver War Nickel look and sure enough a 1945P

Four fun finds the past 8 days. Now starting to wonder why I am searching so many nickels the finds seem to be coming naturally.

Happy Hunting.

After a long skunk streak I have had success twice in a row. This find was one of my better ones, not by quantity but by content.

The prizes were a pair of 1943 Mercury dimes, one a "D" and the other an "S". There was also a 64D Roosevelt dime and a 2003 Australia 5 cent coin. couple spenders, including a totally scrunched up nickel rounded out the find.

Nice finds, n9jig!

I once got two Mercs at the same time from a Coinstar (both dated 1944 Philly)... The machine kept rejecting them and I talked the person using the machine, and she let me have them for face value.
