Does Anyone Collect Woodgrain 1 Cent/Pennies?

I saw one that had an extreme woodgrain effect earlier today that caught my eye. Dave H Pillar of the Community United States 1436 Posts	Posted 09/22/2012 8:58 pm As vermontensium noted above, the woodgrain effect is cause by the metal alloys in the planchet not being completely mixed together properly. Although the cent pictured looks very dark, in reality, it is much lighter than the picture shows. I also have a 1909 VDB w/ tiger stripes... Report this Post to the Staff
