By now many of you know that I have a sinister agenda: To link the oldsters mired in the past with the youngsters surfing the web at speeds that I cannot comprehend. Well, when my BCCS journal arrived today and I read this, I could not wait to share it with everyone. My editor Eileen was especially impressed with the depth and comprehensiveness of the coin facts section of the CCF. For her to recommend that the members "Check it out" is very high praise. I can only hope that my effort might inspire a few of you to make a similar effort in the other series. If we all scratch each other's back, then all of our itches will feel better. And by oldsters and youngsters I mean not age, but rather attitude: ALL resources are to be used and appreciated. --- For the record: The first appearance, in print, of a link to the CCF occurred in the "Journal of the Barber Coin Collector' Society Volume 23 Number 3 Unless somebody else has done it before! Yes, read that this evening. Way to go, Matthew!
I'm saving the David Lange article on Quarters for a nice quiet evening.

Quote: Excellent! Thanks for attempting to bring more "experienced" collectors to this great forum. "The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then â€" to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn." ― T.H. White, The Once and Future King
