Yeah I saw it. I figured anyone selling a $10,000 coin (among many other coins he/she is selling) surly can invest in macro shooting equipment. I won't be touching that auction with a 20ft pole. Not with those useless pictures.

3rd world grading company. Would not touch with a 100' pole.

Speaking of 1948 dollar's , there's one on E-bay for sale advertised as having a "double HP"? First I've ever heard of a '48 with this variety. The only anomaly I've ever seen for a '48 were "rotated dies".

That NNC holder is not considered a "certified" grade by ebay's rules.
Are the photos intentionally out-of-focus? Because the coin almost looks polished.
On the plus side, nobody will buy it for that.

I agree totally anyone posting crappy picture's are trying to hind something. If I was trying to sell coins of that value I would make sure it was the best picture possible as not to raise questions on my coin.

thanks CB for the link.

That coin looks as if it were dipped, or cleaned in some way.

While the pictures are poor, and the coin might still be a decent grade, that is a serious purchase. If I was out to purchase a mint state 1948 dollar, I would want to see it with my own eyes first, or if from a major auction house, have someone I trust be my eyes for me. This is where coin shows will never replace the internet auctions..
