Many thanks to Tom (CaptainFwiffo) for his generosity and effort sending me a very nice addition to my US coin collection. I received a package from Tom containing the following: 1- 1891 Indian cent ...... I like very much and I sure will be interested to start a small collection of this beautiful coin. 2- An Unc 1956D, 2012 P and D LC ..... a very nice update to my LC Dansco 3- 2012 P Dime ..... a nice update to my Dansco album 4- 1936 Buffalo nickel .... IMO One of the very beautiful designs of the American coinage. 5- 2012 P Jeff Nickel .... now my Dansco is updated 6- 2004 P Peace medal Nickel DDO .... I am still trying to see were exactly is the DD .... I think I need a microscope ..... Tom: I will need your help with this one 7- 1980S and 1999P SBA dollars ..... a new coin set to start and I checked my Red Book, it seems a small set so I hope it will be an easy job to complete specially that I already have another 3 coins. 8- Some beautiful IKs .... 1971, 71D, 72D, 73, 74, 74D, 77, 78, 78D ..... and I already have 4 other coins so I think that this is a great push for this set. 9- 1936 Mercury dime (One of my favorite coins that I love) very much I have another 4 coins of this beauty 10- A Sacagawea dollar Dansco album that contains 9 coins .... my daughter thank you for this one Tom as she loves this coin because I call her every time and then "Sacagawea". So this set is not mine now but my daughter's.

Very nice! I have seen your other coins as well. You have a better U.S. collection than most of us here probably.

Tom's good for that. I'd never have run across a Peace DDO, where I live.

Glad it finally made it! I had originally put together the package all the way back in July, but after I sent it, it never arrived for some reason. I had given it up for lost, but it came back to me as undeliverable a few months later looking like it'd been to heck and back. But with a little help, the second try finally got through. The DDO is a subtle one, but it's somewhat significant historically. It was the first real doubled die discovered after the mint switched to a single-squeeze process. Take a look at the thread linked by oih82w8 above, it's got some comparison pictures. I really need to take some better pictures with my new camera though.

Quote: Very nice! I have seen your other coins as well. You have a better U.S. collection than most of us here probably. Thanks and with Tom's gift I am now on my way to complete all the Modern US coin series ..... I am working on LWC, Franklin, IKs, SBA, Sac. I love US coinage and I am well known in my coin club and for many coin collectors in Egypt as a top US coin collector. I wrote some articles about the sets I completed and at the last club meeting they asked me if I may prepare a small lecture about US coins. I usually take one of my Dansco albums to my club meetings and show it to all members and many became interested in US coins and usually each meeting they get me their coins and ask me many questions about them. Quote: isn't it nice to have friends! Coin community is great for making new friends. Very true ....... CCF members have helped me a lot with my collection, either through trades, gifts or by the very informative threads I read from our respectable, helpful members.
