What do you think they gave out for a grade? "Buy the Book Before You Buy the Coin" - Aaron R. Feldman - "And read it" - Me 2013! VG8, but because its a semi key date and they are tough to find in nice condition, they probably gave it a VG10.

Coin is somewhat dark but, I say they gave it F-12

Based on wear, I'd say VG-10 with a weakly struck liberty.

I don't think this would quite make a VG-10. For one thing, too many letters in 'LIBERTY" are not visible. VG-8

Surfaces look dark and almost porous, possibly indicating the coin has suffered from improper storage. PCGS might have flagged it as Environmental Damage.
VG-8 details IMO.

I bought it as a G/VG coin raw, it sat in my showcse for a year raw before I submitted it and lo and behold I get this back! It sold for more than twice what I had been asking for once it was in the slab! A good lesson - Buy the coin not the holder!

Could just be the dark images because it doesn't look F12.

LIBERTY can be faint but must be totally visible for F12. For anyone versed in the series, this is a VG coin all day.
